Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Will Soon Have SpaceX's Starlink
On Tuesday (30/08/2022) Royal Caribbean Cruises announced that they will start to utilize SpaceX's Starlink internet service to provide to passengers onboard.
Today, we use the internet for more than just leisure, but for work and academics. So the internet has become a vital part of society, however, internet connections on cruise ships are sluggish and aren't up to task of hundreds of people using it all at once.
The SpaceX + Royal Caribbean Cruise partnership will help combat bad internet connectivity. Starlink will provide high-bandwidth and reliable internet connection. “This technology will provide game-changing internet connectivity onboard our ships,” announced by Jason Liberty in a press release.
SpaceX vice president of Starlink Commercial Sales - Jonathan Hofeller - told that this will allow for an even more luxurious experience.
Starlink is a low Earth orbit satellite constellation that aims to provide internet connection in remote or rural areas that mainstream ISP (internet service providers) doesn't provide.
